Apple does not intend to make a Mac with a touchscreen, claiming that you can get an iPad if you want a bigger touchscreen device. Fair enough, I guess.
But predictably, some people aren’t too pleased with Apple’s stubbornness – not least of which because we’re perfectly happy using our MacBooks, thank you very much. It’d be nice to use with a touchscreen, though.
A DIY touchscreen solution
For people like us, Neonode has created the AirBar – which is being released for the MacBook Air 13.3″ at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 in Las Vegas.
The product is a metal bar that is positioned below the screen of the MacBook Air and then connects to a USB port, turning your laptop touch sensitive.

Obviously, anyone who buys this product must face the experience of using an operating system (the macOS) with fingers, which it was not originally designed to accommodate.
But if you’re a touch screen die-hard, the AirBar for MacBook Air will hit the international market in March, costing $ 100.
